Bloom's taxonomy

Bloom's taxonomy (1956, revised Anderson & Krathwohl 2001) categorises cognitive objectives: remember, understand, apply, analyse, evaluate, create. Its greatest value is prompting teachers to design for higher-order thinking.

A hierarchical framework for classifying educational objectives from lower-order (recall) to higher-order (create) thinking.
