Inquiry-based learning

Inquiry-based learning positions students as investigators rather than receivers. It exists on a spectrum from structured (teacher provides question and method) to open (student generates both). High-quality inquiry requires explicit teaching of inquiry skills, not just inquiry contexts.

A student-driven approach where questions, problems, or scenarios anchor the learning process.
