Interleaving

Interleaving (Rohrer and Taylor) produces better long-term retention and transfer than blocked practice, though it feels harder and produces lower performance during practice. Teachers often abandon it because students prefer the illusion of competence that blocked practice provides.

Mixing different topics or problem types within a practice session rather than practising each in isolation.
