Learning intentions

Learning intentions (Hattie and Clarke) describe the learning — not the activity — in student-accessible language. The common error is writing activity descriptions ('today we will...') rather than learning descriptions ('by the end, you will understand...').

Explicit statements of what students are intended to learn in a lesson or unit.
