Wait time

Mary Budd Rowe's research found that extending wait time to 3–5 seconds increases response length, accuracy, student-to-student interaction, and the frequency of speculative thinking. Two types: after asking (wait time 1) and after a student responds (wait time 2).

The deliberate pause between asking a question and accepting a response, allowing more students to think.
